2024-2025 Updates to the Drupal framework (Muser) that runs PROPEL

The Muser Drupal development team has worked hard this summer on several new features that impact both mentors and students.

Project Auto-Recommendations

When students favorite a project during the application period of the round, five more active projects will be suggested in a pop-up at the bottom of the screen. These recommendations are based on the academic topic(s) of the original favorited project, and they will refresh every time the student favorites a new project.

The window will automatically minimize after a certain period of time, but students can manually minimize/maximize it by clicking on the down arrow and up arrow, respectively.

Mentor Profile Pages

Students can now view profile pages for mentors with at least one active project in the current round. Each profile page contains basic mentor information like name, pronouns, and position.

The profile page also features a "Mentors Actions By Round" chart, which displays individual mentor data from past rounds like the number of applications that mentor has received, reviewed, and accepted/rejected.

At the end of each profile page, students can see all of that mentor's currently active projects.

To access these profile pages, click on any project on the "Projects" page, and click on the name of the Mentor under "Contact Information."

Download Applications By Project

Mentors who post multiple projects in a given round can now download student applications by project, in addition to the original, multi-project download option.

To download applications by project, navigate to "Applications" during the application review period, and click the "Download by project" button in either the "New applications" or "Application review" tabs.

Thank you for using PROPEL!
