Lab Prep staff, Bio 153 (F25)
We are seeking a recent grad or a student taking a reduced course load to work 20-40 hours per week assisting the Biology prep staff for Bio 153: Phage Discovery. The successful candidate will help make solutions, aliquot reagents, grow bacterial cultures, pour agar plates, use the autoclave, and assist with electronic record keeping in google sheets, google docs, and Canvas. In your application, please indicate how many courses you plan to take in the fall, the number of hours and days of the week you are available (including possible Monday and Tuesday evenings), and your experiences with biology lab techniques.
Experience as a technical assistant will give you valuable skills for graduate programs, working in academic labs, or jobs in industry. You will learn more about the 'behind the scenes work' involved in preparing for biology labs and you will work with a dynamic team of lab staff, graduate students, undergraduate TAs, and a faculty mentor to deliver a high-impact course-based research experience.
